亦称“黄葵”。植物名。唐薛能有《黄蜀葵》诗；唐韩偓有《黄蜀葵賦》。
黄葵二月下種，或宿子在土自生，至夏始長。葉大，如𦱔麻葉，深緑色，開歧丫，有五尖如人爪形，旁有小尖。六月開花，大如盌，鵞黄色，紫心六瓣而側，旦開午收暮落，人亦呼爲側金盞花。隨即結角，大如拇指。
