得五分钱及五分钱之极薄者，即可补《史》《汉》注语之不详。
五分钱亦为荚钱之一种，《汉书·高后纪》“六年行五分钱”是也。考高后二年因荚钱太小，故别行八铢半两钱，此钱三枚，使用时可抵秦半两二枚。亦觉不便，故再行五分钱。五分钱者，五分十二铢而得二铢四絫，为泉一枚之重，即以五枚抵秦半两一枚，得此可以正古来注五分钱者之太略。又有形式相同，而极薄者，其重已不及二铢，即《史记·平准书》所谓“荚钱益多轻者”是也。 —自注
