泼油救火 pō yóu jiù huǒ 用油去扑灭火焰。比喻使用的方法不对头，不仅于事无补，反使情况更加严重。《三国演义》第七四回：“庞德原系马超手下副将，不得已而降魏……今使他为先锋，是泼油救火也。”《二十年目睹之怪现状》第八五回：“他一面在这里服药，一面在那边戕伐，碰了个不知起倒的医生，还给他服点燥烈之品，正是‘泼油救火’，恐怕他死得不快罢了。”
